One of eleven children born to Void and Eddie-Mae Smith of Arkansas and Alabama, Leone was born in Los Angeles and raised in Encino, California.
Her dad Void was a preacher and had one of the first known radio gospel hours which included music and singing. She helped her dad with his work and wanted to become a missionary. She graduated from Encino High School in 1957 and at age 21 married Billy Ray Dickison who had a desire to be a pastor. Leone and Billy lived in Burbank and started a family. They moved to Simi Valley in 1965 and the family grew to 6 children (4 girls and 2 boys) which all miss her dearly.
Leone loved our Heavenly FATHER and tried her best to instill that desire into her children. Through good times and hard times she always put the children's needs and well being first. That trait is what every good mother shares. After the children were grown she did volunteer work and helped to provide for children and orphans in Mexico. These last years with failing health she was still very happy and well cared for. She left suddenly while embraced in the arms of love. We love you and miss you mom until we are together again you will be in our hearts, say hello to dad.
Services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012, 10:30 a.m., at Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth.
