Maggie Garcia Valdez
A longtime resident of Chino passed away on November 27, 2013 surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was 86.
Maggie was born to Miguel and Refugio Garcia on April 13, 1927. She grew up in Chino on Anderson Street, Canta Ranas. She worked for California Brass Manufacturer Company as a Supervisor-Lead Lady from 1960-1995. In 1950 she married Henry M. Valdez. Together they raised their 7 children, cared for several grandchildren, and hosted many gatherings at their home on 4th & "B" Street in Chino.
Maggie enjoyed her time with family. In her retired years she especially enjoyed spending time with her dear cousins and friends traveling and visiting casinos in the surrounding areas. She was a kind hearted lady with a pleasant sense of humor; she will truly be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry and her son Henry, Jr. She is survived by her children Ricardo Valdez (Liz), Stella Quinones, Ruth Martinez, and Fermin Valdez all of Chino, Marlene Delgado (Manuel Valencia) of Montclair and Joey Valdez (Virginia) of Alta Loma, her brother Mike Garcia, sisters Lucy Vicario and Mary Garcia of Chino, 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Chino with viewing at 9am, Rosary at 10am, Mass at 10:30am. Graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Pomona immediately following.
