Manuel Blanco Obituary

BLANCO- Manuel "Oscar" Blanco, born September 25, 1925, died November 24, 2010 at the age of 85 surrounded by his children and other family members. He is survived by his children, Oscar (Rena) Blanco Jr., Pearl (Terry) Bontempo, Rosemarie (Dick) DuPlane, Donna Stanford, Grace Orona, and Helen "Lola" (deceased). He has 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grand children, and 22 great-great grandchildren. Manuel "Oscar" Blanco served in the Navy during World War II and received several honors and medals. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he was employed by LA County and upon his retirement, worked along side his loving wife of 60 years, Dolores R. Blanco (deceased), at their family owned and operated "Blanco's Mexitessen-5/8 in Rowland Heights. He was a devoted husband, dedicated and loving father, caring grandfather, loyal friend and a well-known member of the community. Viewing is Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 5:00-8:00pm at Queen of Heaven Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service is Thursday, December 2, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church at 10:00am
