Wilkinson, Margaret Kay

Margaret Kay Wilkinson, 69, of Covina, passed away on the evening of April 20th.
She was born in Jackson, Minnesota on August 30th, 1944, to Wilber & Dorothy Mickelson. Kay, as she was known throughout her life, grew up in Estherville, Iowa. She was happily married to Roger Wilkinson since 1968.
Kay graduated from the University of Iowa and first worked as a nurse. She moved to California in 1971 and concentrated on raising her family. Later, Kay returned to work where she taught preschool for over 25 years at the Covina First Baptist School. She truly loved teaching as "Miss Kay" and valued the young students in her classroom.
Often found with an effervescent smile, Kay was a friend to all and will be missed by many.
A loving wife, mother and grandma, Kay always put family first. She is survived by her husband, Roger, and their three children, son Todd Wilkinson, his wife Kirsten, and their two daughters, Ella and Emery; daughter Jennifer Alexander and her husband William; and daughter Toni Wilkinson. She is also survived by her two sisters, Meredith Maytum and Noel Mickelson Wagner.
A memorial / celebration of Kay's life is in the planning stages and will take place in July.
