YOUMANS, Margot Silvia
Margot Silvia Youmans, age 84 passed away peacefully on Sunday August 25, 2013 at her home in Sierra Vista, AZ
after a long battle with cancer.
Margot was born in Fuerth, Germany on January 7, 1929 to Johann Leonhard Hertlein and Maria Kirch Hertlein. She has one living brother, Gerhard.
Margot met her husband, Robert Arthur Youmans (Ray) who was in the army and stationed in Germany, while Margot was working as a secretary for the 3rd Army Division in Fuerth. They were married at the Post Chapel. They made their home in the early years in Fond du Lac, WI where two of their four children were born. They moved to Temple City, CA where Robert started his own business with Standard Oil. They had two more children.
Margot was very active in various Masonic and civic organizations including Eastern Star where she was a 30-year member and Soroptomist. She was a big supporter of the Shrine, Jobs Daughters, Demolay and high school band. In 1992 after Ray retired they moved to Sierra Vista, AZ where they continued to be active with the Sierra Vista Methodist Church and other organizations.
Margot is survived by her daughter, Rosemarie Davis of Sierra Madre, CA, her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Rita Youmans of Sierra Vista, AZ, her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Vicki Youmans of Ventura, CA and her daughter and son-in-law Susan and Jim Pieratt of Horseshoe Bend, ID. Margot was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was well loved by all who knew her.
Margot is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband whom she was married to for 50 years and a toddler sister.
Funeral Services will be held at the Church of the Good Sheppard in Arcadia, CA on Wednesday September 4th at 10:00 am followed by internment at Live Oak Memorial Park in Monrovia, CA.
