Mary McArthur Obituary

McArthur-Mary Perkins McArthur, passed away, peacefully at her home on September 2nd at the age of 98. She was the devoted Mother of Mary Jane Edalatpour (Ed) and Anne Gilchrist (John), grandmother of Jennifer Bartle (Nick) and great-grandmother of Stella and John. She was preceded in death by her husband William. Mary spent her formative years in Wenham, and Marblehead, Massachusetts. In 1930 she came to Pasadena, where several of her relatives lived. She later married William and settled in Altadena where they raised their family. She was an admired, gracious hostess, who enjoyed gardening, golf, bridge, and attending the Pasadena Symphony with her numerous friends. She spent many happy hours volunteering for The Altadena Guild of the Huntington Memorial Hospital as well as The Huntington Library. She will be greatly missed by all. There will be a private memorial. Donations may be made in her memory to The Altadena Guild of Huntington Memorial Hospital or The Huntington Library.
