Merle and I go back to when we grew up in Long Beach, CA.We graduated from Poly High, class of '58. When Merle was pledging Delphi, he had to come to my house and propose to me in front of his frat brothers; he reminded me of this many years later. Merle and my brother, Don, were at Fort Ord together in the '60s and through that connection, Merle and I reconnected. We were both involved in LA/LB harbor activities. Merle was a good person and I'm glad that he was a part of my life. Debbie, he was liked by many. Kathleen

I am in shock to hear the passing of
Merle he was the brother I never had. My thoughts and prays go out to Debbie, Steve, Ron and the girls he will surely
