MILDRED BOUSQUET Obituary

MILDRED A. (MILLY) BOUSQUET Died peacefully September 1, 2010, at age 92. Mildred was born and raised in Iowa, graduated from Lake Mills High School (Iowa), and taught rural school in the Lake Mills area. She was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church. She loved the Lord since earliest childhood, but made a commitment of her entire being to Him at age 17. The Lord was so very close ever since. Mildred was a Lutheran Deaconess for four years. She attended Lutheran Bible Institute and received her nurse's training at Lutheran Deaconess Hospital, both located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was a registered nurse. She did nursing in Minnesota hospitals (and later in Iowa) and became an American Red Cross nurse, working at the Blood Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, and with the Blood Mobile units. Mildred met her future husband at her church's Adult Bible Class. She married Clement Bousquet, who was a widower with three small children, Maurice, Camilla, and James; later, she and Clement had a daughter, Cynthia. Mildred believed in the power of prayer and, though poor health forced her to give up many activities, she devoted much of her time to praying. She was loving, faithful, and generous. She was predeceased by her husband, Clement, who passed away in 2002, and by James, who was killed-in-action in Vietnam in 1969. Mildred is survived by Maurice, Camilla, and Cynthia. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, her cousin, Helen, and by her nieces, Charlotte and Delores, and her nephew, Norman, and their families. Services are to be held at Cortner Chapel in Redlands on Wednesday, September 22, at 11:00 A.M. Instead of sending flowers for her funeral, the family suggests that you give flowers to someone you care about who is still alive. Thank you.

I knew Mrs. Bousquet for many years as a nurse at Plymouth Village. She was one of the most wonderful, caring, gracious and God-Loving women. Blessing to her children.
