Milton Petersen Obituary

Milton Petersen Milton Broholm Petersen of Rossmoor, passed Friday, December 17, 2010. Born in Stratton, Nebraska on November 28, 1932, he grew up in Grand Coulee, WA and earned his degree from Washington State University. He married Gwendolyn Mae Jones on Valentine's Day in 1955. They moved to Southern California where he worked as an aerospace engineer for Rockwell. Milt and Gwen raised four children. The family relocated to Rossmoor in 1966. Since retiring early, Milt pursued another passion, his green thumb. It is estimated that he has planted over 1,000 trees. His legacy lives on through his example of service. He leaves behind his children, Steven, Michael, Lisa; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and his sister, Phyllis Wheeler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwen and son, Richard. Memorial services will be held Friday, January 7, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at the Community Congregational United Church of Christ in Los Alamitos.

This is sad to hear and sorry I heard too late to attend the services. I worked with Milt for many years at Rockwell, and always appreciated his sense of humor and his willingness to help fellow workers. Dick Graham, Tom Delcourt, Bob Slane and I always considered him a good friend and a very capable person. My condolances to Milt's family.

My condolences to the Peterson family. In the Rockwell days he was always helpful and really one of the characters I’ll really remember from those days. Always working on that Dodge Challenger and the Pickup.

We have lost a good friend, co-worker and all around helpful individual.

He never ceased to amaze me with all his pruning knowledge and the times he helped me with mine.
