So very sorry for your loss. Mr. Pletcher was a teacher at Eisenhower High School when I attended back in the late 70's. I was surprised/happy to see him again out riding when I was out running. I would run into him at the doggie park in Highland. Such an inspiration to us all, he will be missed and never forgotten.

Sadly I learned of the passing of Mr. Pletcher, my favorite teacher at Eisenhower HIgh School, Class of 71. Because of his teaching style and ability to make questions easy to ask, I gained the confidence to go on to college after the Army. I learned it is okay to be differant and approach life differantly than others from him. I pray that his family has peace knowing what a wonderful man he was.

Ron and I are saddened at the news of Lynn's death. He is a strong spirit of caring and dedication. He loved bicycling, family and friends. He will be missed.

Mr. Lynn Pletcher was my teacher at Eisenhower in 1970 for a class in wilderness survival. The class was for boys only and I was put in by mistake as my name was listed as Martin instead of Martina. Mr. Pletcher let me stay in the class and it was very informative. (Later I was the only woman on an F-4 Phantom squadron VMFA-235 in the US Marine Corps.) Mr. Pletcher spoke of his love of hiking and bicycling and of his family. I saw him again when I put my son into kindergarten at Calimesa and again when my son attended YHS. I was shocked to read of his fatal accident in the NewsMirror but not surprised to see he died what he loved doing best...bicycling. He will be sorely missed by everyone. He was a loving and caring man. We need more people like him in our school system. Martina Saltkeld Thomas (Yucaipa, CA)

I am so very sorry to hear this. I graduated from YHS in 1985 and without Mr. Pletcher I would not have gone to college. I was a good student, but could not pass a math class to save my life. He invoked a little-used privilege that area principals could use to designate a student to go to UC Riverside - even if they did not meet enrollment requirements. He did that for me and I went on to graduate from UCR, then the University of Redlands, and eventually I became a teacher and then eventually got an MFA. All possible because Mr. Pletcher believed in me. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful, kind, and very thoughtful person.

He touched so many lives. I worked with Lynn when I was employed with Yucaipa Calimesa School District. I sing in the choir at Yucaipa Christian Church and would see him walk in and take his seat. I am so glad that Jesus was and is a part of his life.
