Raymond McCarville Obituary

McCARVILLE-Raymond V. McCarville, 85, passed away Sept. 21, 2010. A long time resident of Monrovia, Ray, often worked hand-in-hand on many community and church events with his wife and life-time sweetheart, Phyllis, who preceded him in death in 2004. Ray was a WWII South Pacific veteran, he later became the President of the So. Calif. Chapter of the 1st Cavalry Division. He was also Monrovia's, "Senior Volunteer of the Year," and he had been a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Gad-a-Bouts, and the Monrovia Old Cats. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Marsha McCarville; son and his wife, Michael & Mara McCarville; sister, Mary Ruth McCarville, and his grandchildren, Justin, Shane & Katie. Visitation hours 1-4 PM on Sunday, Sept. 26 with a Vigil Service at 2 PM will both be held at the Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance in Monrovia. Funeral Mass at 12 Noon on Monday at the Immaculate Conception Church in Monrovia.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of a great Cavalry Trooper and Chapter President. The 1st Cavalry Division Association has lost a fellow Trooper and friend. Ray will be missed and remembered.

Our heartfelt condolences in the passing of Ray. He was a wonderful and generous person whom we will all miss greatly. He will be in our prayers in a special way during this time. His family will also be remembered, that God may bless each one with his peace and consolation.
