Valerie Funk Obituary

FUNK-Valerie Ann Funk, Born September 16, 1925 in Alhambra to Joseph and Anastacia Volz, died September 22, 2010 in Henderson, NV. Valerie was a 50 year resident of West Covina. After retiring from Saers Roebuck she enjoyed volunteering for the West Covina Police Department Senior Citizens Partol and was active in the St. Christophers' Senior Group. She was a lifelong Dodgers fan. Survived by her children Connie Hernandez, Rancho Cucamonga, Steve Funk (Rose), Plano, TX., Laurie Wesley (Jim), Victorville, Vicki Arthur (John), Henderson, NV. and her grandchildren Leslie, Angie, Greg, Jeff, Danny, Chris, Ashley, Nick and Tim, and six great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister Alice Larson and brothers Joe, Tom, Phil and Jerry Volz. preceded in death by her husband Bill Funk, her sisters Ellen Miller, Joanne Patterson, Peggy Metz and her brother Ed Volz. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at St. Christophers' Catholic Church in West Covina. In Lieu of Flowers please make a donation in Valerie's name to your local hospice Organization.

Dearest Connie and family ~ may it bring you some measure of comfort to know how much I and my family are thinking of you at this difficult time. Val was a great lady whom we all enjoyed. She was a wonderful and dear friend of our mom, Adele Faucett. Val will be greatly missed. On behalf of the entie Faucett Family, I send our love and prayers. God bless.
