WILLIAM SPONAUGLE Obituary

WILLIAM R. SPONAUGLE Age 82, of Phelan, formerly a resident of Fontana for over 58 years, passed away peacefully from this life into the arms of the Lord on Dec. 24, 2010. William was born in Morganstown, West Virginia, on Feb. 24, 1928, and grew up in Follensbee, West Virginia. After serving in the U.S. Army he moved to Fontana, CA, to work for Kaiser Steel for over 30 years. He met and married his wife, Helen "Maryann" Miro and had three children. He loved to golf, and continued to golf up until 8 months ago. He so enjoyed his Tuesday Golf Day with his Best Friend, John Hess, who continued to always be there for him. William's son, Bill was his care giver and companion. William was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen "Maryann", his youngest son, at the age of 12 years, Johnny, and his only Grandson, Richard Lee White. He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Bill Sponaugle of Phelan; his daughter, Bobbie White of Fontana; Granddaughters, Christy Carter of Reno, NV, Rachel Warren of Redlands; and two Great Grandchildren, Valerie and Emily; and a sister, Louise of Washington. A celebration of life will be held at 17256 Owen Street in Fontana, CA, on Wed., Jan. 5th at 2 P.M.
