Joseph J. Macias Jr. Obituary
Joseph graduated from Whittier High School in 1949 where he met his wife Rose Pastrano. He served in the Air Force and then attended Cal State University, Los Angeles to study Education. Later, he received a Master of Science degree from Pepperdine University. His career was spent teaching at Rivera and Durfee Elementary Schools in Pico Rivera. He and Rose had four children: Vicki, Greg, Randy and Carol, 6 grandchildren; Guy, Natalie, Jordan, Desirae, Joseph and Lauren, and 2 great grand-children; Azalea and Jasmine. In 2002 he moved near his son in Chino Hills and was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church. As his health declined, he moved to Laguna Niguel near his eldest son. He recently moved north of San Francisco to be near his daughters as he continued to weaken from Parkinson's Disease. In addition to his children, grand-children and great grand-children, he is survived by his two sisters, Mary-Louise Granillo and Stella Rojas. Rosary at White Emerson Mortuary on May 8th at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church May 9th at 11:00 AM.
