URBAN, Eugene F.

Eugene "Gene" Urban, born on July 4, 1931, passed away at home on August 11, 2014, following a long battle with cancer. He was an El Monte resident for 54 years and a member of the El Monte Moose Lodge Chapter 1321. Gene was a Korean War Veteran and was wounded in the battle on the famous Pork Chop Hill in July 1953. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Micki Urban Ready and is survived by wife of 60 years, Donna; daughters, Jacquelyn Beaver (Robert) of Palmdale and Vicki Figueroa (Frank) of Whittier; sister, Geraldine Amstutz of La Puente; sister in law and friend, Marion Wells of Tucson, AZ; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
