Obituary Condolences

4801 CABLE-Jim Cable, it is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jim Cable on February 20, 2010 at the young age of 68 years old. "Papa Jim", as he was affectionately known as by his family and many friends lost his hard fought battle with cance r while in Delhi, Louisiana; where he spent the latter part of his life surrounded by members of his loving family. Jim was nearly a permanent fixture in the City of Irwindale, where he proudly resided as well as owned & operated Arrow Radiator near the corner of Arrow Highway and Irwindale Avenue, where you could find him working, nearly 356 days a year for 40+ years, before being forced to close his business due to new environmental laws. "Papa Jim" leaves behind a large and loving family - sister's N ancy Kirkland & Sandra Wallen, brother's John and Bill Cable, daughters Lynette (Robert) Pelfry, Suzette (Rod) Youngblood, Colette (Dennis) Stewart, Yvette Horbal, Paulette (Larry) Caldwell and son Danny (Diane) Skipwith; there are also 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The family would also like to extend a special "Thank You" to Jim's loving niece Janie Smitherman and loving Family who not only opened their home but also their hearts and made Papa Jim's latter months both comfortable and memor able. Papa Jim's sometimes grouchy but always caring, generous and loving attitude and presence will be missed for many, many years to come for all who knew and loved him, we will surely miss that familiar sight of Jim riding up and down Arrow Highway on his three wheel bicycle.
