Raul Sanchez Solis, 88, was born on February 27, 1924 in Tucson, Arizona. He was a long time resident of La Puente, CA. He was married to Juana Solis for 58 years. He is survived by his wife and 7 children: Irma, Raul Jr., Hilda, Victor, Beatriz, Anna, Leticia and their spouses, 10 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. He enjoyed celebrating birthdays and holidays with all his family and friends. He was a union leader with the Teamsters. He was a devoted religious man and enjoyed the outdoors, loved spending times at Azusa Canyon over the years with his family and grandchildren. He touched so many lives and was a good example for those who knew him. He was well versed in current political affairs, a modern man for his time. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Surprisingly, he met great leaders such as the late Senator Ted Kennedy and President Barack Obama. A humble man with a powerful conviction for social justice.
Vigil/rosary will be held on Sunday, March 4th, from 5:00p.m.- 8:00 p.m., at Rose Hills Cemetery at the Hillside Chapel, located at 3888 Workman Mill Rd., Whittier, CA 90601.
Mass will be held on Monday, March 5th at 10:00 a.m., at St. Louis of France, located at 13935 E. Temple Ave., La Puente, CA 91746.
Funeral will take place after Mass at Rose Hills Cemetery.
