O'Hara, Timothy Bryan
Age 62 of Desert Hot Springs, California passed away on April 23, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, John D. (Jack) and Martha B. O'Hara, formerly of Knoxville, Tennessee and Fullerton, California, and nephew David Bryan O'Hara of Knoxville, Tennessee. Tim was a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Desert Hot Springs, California.
Tim attended Knoxville Catholic High School, where he excelled in football and track, and was a communicant at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Knoxville. He was a decorated veteran, having volunteered for service in Vietnam with the United States Marine Corps. His two tours of duty were distinguished by commendations for attaining record-breaking scores in the Corps' demanding physical fitness regimen, exemplary service as Base Sentry in Vietnam, and rapid advancement to the rank of Sergeant of the Guard in that conflict. Following his discharge, Tim pursued his life-long love of artistic design, producing striking designs for energy efficient cars, housing for low income families, and, most notably, logos for the national Vietnam Era Missing in Action (MIA) Campaign.
He is survived by seven siblings and their spouses: brothers Michael D. O'Hara and wife Nancy of Nashville, Tennessee; John R. O'Hara and wife Karen of Knoxville, Tennessee; Daniel P. O'Hara and wife Janet of Upland, California; Paul K. O'Hara and wife Sheilah of Sacramento, California; sisters Mary T. Patin and husband Jeffery of Knoxville, Tennessee; Constance O'Hara of Spokane, Washington; Virginia Sabbarese and husband Chris of Riverside, California; and six nieces: Susan and Karen Beth O'Hara of Nashville, Tennessee; Brianna and Kaitlyn O'Hara of Sacramento, California; Jackie O'Hara of Spokane, Washington; Isabella Sabbarese of Riverside, California; along with nine nephews: Sean O'Hara and Matthew, Adam and Ben Patin, all of Knoxville, Tennessee; Kevin, Robert and Michael O'Hara of Upland, California; Shane O'Hara of Sacramento, California; and John Sabbarese of Riverside California.
Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in memory of Timothy O'Hara to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Orange County Inland Empire Chapter.
