ROSS, Dolors LaRose

Dolors LaRose Ross of Peoria, Illinois, passed away March 13, 2013. Born to Kenneth and Irene Adams, Dolors
attended Bradley University, where she studied Early Childhood Development. She married Glen Ross in 1950 and moved to California in 1954. Dolors loved her family, music, history, travel and serving. She acted as a preschool teacher and director for many years. An active member of Arcadia Presbyterian Church, she served in committees, sang in the choir, was a deaconness, head of Sunday School, usher and frequently cooked for church events. Known for her good cooking and love of entertaining, she started a catering business with a church friend. Dolors was passionate about P.E.O., an organization dedicated to helping women achieve their aspirations, especially through education. She served in every role, from secretary to president, in her decades as a member. She was very involved in Questers, a historical organization. She acted as its president for several years and took many enjoyable trips with the group. She retired with Glen to Nipomo in 2000 where she remained as social and busy as ever. She was known for her friendly smile and sense of humor. Dolors is survived by; son Kenneth Ross; daughters: Rendy Dore, Tina Marble and Heather Smith; grandchildren: Jennifer, Ross, Jordan, Adam and Nathan; and great-grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob, Christian, Madelynn and Ryland. She is preceded in death by Glen Ross (February, 2010). Memorial service to be held on Saturday, March 23 at 2:30 pm at Nipomo Community Presbyterian Church in Arroyo Grande.
