Leon Paul Crabb

Leon Paul Crabb, La Mesa, California, passed away on June 11, 2013, at UCSD Medical Center, from lung cancer diagnosed only five days earlier. His family and friends were close by his side. Born in Pocatello, Idaho, to Leon Dee and Pauline Crabb, Leon spent his childhood in Pasadena, California, and graduated from Blair High School in 1972. Leon moved to San Diego where he attended San Diego State University and graduated with a BS degree in Environmental Health and Safety through the Department of Microbiology.
Leon worked for Collin's Food Service as their Quality Control Officer. Later he went to work for Joseph Webb Foods, (US Foods), and he became a warehouse
manager until 2011.
Leon loved to go fishing and camping and sporting events with his family and friends. He had a great passion for music, but most of all the rock band The Who. He was their #1 fan!
Leon's greatest love was his family and friends. He was a loving son, father, grandfather and friend, loyal to all those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Dee Crabb. He is survived by his mother, Pauline Crawford Crabb, son, Leon Jeffrey Crabb, daughter, Lindsay Jane Dunlap, son-in-law, Ashley Dunlap, granddaughters, Ashlyn and Brooklyn Dunlap, brother, Larry Crabb, sister-inlaw, Sara Crabb, sister, Mary Hernandez, brother-in-law, Dan Hernandez, nephew, Ryan Crabb, his wife, Vishali, nieces Hannah Crabb and Victoria Hernandez, nephew, Steven Hernandez, and former spouse and mother of his children, Tracy Cooper Crabb.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests making a donation in memory of Leon to cancer research or the UCSD Medical Center for research.
A Memorial Service has been planned for June 26, 2013 at 4:30 p.m at The Thursday Club 1224 Santa Barbara Street San Diego, CA 92107. We love you, Leon, Dad, Granddad and will miss you so much!
