On May 1, 2014 Guillermina Arciniega went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on July 2, 1940 in Bamori, Sonora, Mexico and came to the United States. She was married in 1957 to her husband of 57 years, Eliseo Arciniega. They lived in San Diego, Ca where they had two daughters, Judy (Silva) and Esther (Smith). They moved to Santa Ana, Ca in Orange County, where they had two more children, Eliseo and Lisa Ann. In 1979 they moved to Upland where Mina took a job for the Upland School District working in the kitchen at Baldy View Elementary making breakfast and lunch for several neighboring schools. She loved her work and the people that she worked with, eventually retiring in 2001. In retirement she cherished her grandchildren Sarah Helberg, Sammy Silva, Jordan Silva, Elisa Silva and Stephanie Smith and her great granddaughter Emma Helberg. She enjoyed cooking and baking for the many guests that would visit. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting and tending to her dogs, Chopper and Cleo but her main focus was devoting her time to her husband, her family and serving the Lord. She was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa and is survived by her husband, two daughters and a son. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Our only comfort is that she is with the Lord.
Viewing will be held from 5-9pm Friday, May 16th at Claremont Presbyterian Church, 1111 N. Mountain Ave., Claremont, CA 91711. Funeral Services will be 1pm on Saturday, May 17th at Claremont Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, West Covina.
