Marilyn Konz-Bennett

Marilyn M. Konz-Bennett, 87, of Plymouth, died Sunday evening, May 5, at Plymouth Care Center.

She was the former Marilyn M. Damrow, born November 19, 1925 in Kiel, daughter of the late Ernst & Lizzie (Bunge) Damrow.

Marilyn attended Kiel Public Schools and was a graduate of Kiel High School in 1943.

On August 20, 1946 she married Elroy E. Konz in Kiel. He preceded her in death on September 8, 1978. On February 18, 1983 she married Russell Bennett. Russell preceded her in death on January 20, 2013.

Marilyn worked as a bank teller in Kiel and New Holstein for a number of years.

She was a former member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Kiel as well as the Christian Women's Society. She also was a former member of the Kiel VFW Auxiliary, Post # 6707. She currently was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Plymouth and was a devoted helper at the church concession stand at Road America.

Marilyn enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in sporting and school events and playing cribbage and cards.

Survivors include her four children: Timothy (Heidi) Konz, Kenosha, Lizbeth (David) Arnold, Kiel, Jonathon (Jody) Konz, Kiel, Mary (Scott) Stein, Plymouth & five step-children; Richard Bennett, Roger (Mary) Bennett, Sherri (Frank) Rath, Randall (Lisa) Bennett and Suzanne Meeker. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Ryan (Sarah), Elisa, Eve, Layne, Gregory, Bradley (Melissa), Stacy, Wade, Christopher (special friend, Maria), Laura, Alexandra & Kelsey as well as, Nicole, Clayton, Tyler, Leah, Mackenzie, Zachary and Luke. She is further survived by great grandchildren; Jacob, Aliyah, Tyson, Camdyn, Chloe & Aiden, special nephew, Tom (Marlene) Richart, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Elroy & Russell and a sister, Evelyn (Omar) Richart.

The funeral Mass for Marilyn will be held at 11:30 am, Friday, May 10, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Plymouth with Fr, Daniel Volkert officiating.

Burial will take place in Kiel.

Family and friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.

Marilyn's family would like to extend their thanks to the CNA nurses and staff of Plymouth Care Center, Dr. Murthy, Sarah from Evercare and Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center for comforting her the past several years.

So sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing. I really enjoyed it when she would come into the salon to get her nails done and painted in her sparkly red color. She was a great woman and will be missed. Prayers to your family.
