Habeck, John E. (1953-2014) John E. Habeck, age 61 of Cascade, WI died unexpectedly on November 18, 2014. He was born on July 8, 1953 a son of Verona (Meilahn) and the late Harvey Habeck. John was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cascade, WI. He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1971. John worked in the construction business with his father, Harvey, and brother, Jim, after their father's death in 1977, they started their own business in in 1983 known as Habeck Construction. He was preceded in death by his father Harvey and sister Jill. Survivors include his mother: Verona "Moisie" Habeck of Cascade; brother: James Habeck of Cascade; sister: Joyce (Jerry) Biederwolf of Maple Grove, MN; niece: Jamie (Phil) Gilles of Ft. Myers, FL and nephew: Jason (Kelli) Biederwolf of Maple Grove, MN. There will be NO VISITATION. A private family service will be held for John. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in John's name. Hamernick, Ruth E.  
Hamernick, Ruth Ellen Ruth Ellen Hamernick nee Kurtz ,93, of McHenry, IL, formerly of Glenview, IL and prior to that, Sheboygan, WI, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2014. She was born on October 19, 1921, in Sheboygan, WI, to the late August and Barbara Trimberger Kurtz. She graduated from Holy Name Grade School and was a member of the first graduating class from Sheboygan North High School in 1939. After her graduation, Ruth worked at Electric Sprayet. It was there she met the love of her life, William C. Hamernick. They married on April 21, 1945. They were married for 63 years when he preceded her in death in 2008. Together Bill and Ruth moved many times before settling in Glenview, IL, where they lived for 32 years. Bill and Ruth loved to travel and enjoyed many trips throughout the USA and Europe. They were extremely dedicated and devoted to their faith. Ruth's passion was singing. She sang in the church choir and senior choir for 25 years. Above all, her family was the love and joy of her life. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Potthast, granddaughters, Lara Coler and Jolie (Joseph) McGuigan and great-grandsons, Ryan, Dylan and Chad Coler. Further surviving are her ex-son-in-law, James Potthast; sisters-in-law, Bernadine Bauer and Rose Marie DiMaggio, and brothers-in-law, Robert Hamernick and Dr. Robert Deutsch and many dear nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her husband, parents, parents-in-law, William and Sarah Hamernick, Ruth was preceded in death by sisters, and brothers-in-law, Wilma (E. Jim) Berg, Marie (Leo) Mischo, brothers and sister-in-law, Melvin (Mary) Kurtz and Harold Kurtz, sisters-in-law, Marguerite Deutsch and Patricia Hamernick and brothers-in-law, Christ Bauer and Paul DiMaggio. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 22, from 9 a.m. until time of Mass 10 a.m. at St. Catherine Laboure Church, 3535 Thornwood, Glenview, IL. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
