Dennis "Denny" Sly

Dennis "Denny" Sly, 64, of Sheboygan, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

Denny was born November 10th, 1948 in Eau Claire, WI, the son of Lawrence "Toby" and Gladys (Keilholz) Sly. He was a graduate of Eau Claire North High School, Class of 1967.

Upon moving to Sheboygan in 1976, Dennis found work with the Armira Leather Company and a few years later joined the Kohler Company, where he worked in the Iron Foundry.

Denny was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent much of his time fishing the North Pier. He truly loved nature and wildlife. His love of nature was never more evident than in his many beautiful wildlife drawings. He had a true artistic talent and gifted eye for detail. He also loved sports. His love of sports started as a batboy for the semi-pro Eau Claire Braves baseball team. His dedication to the Packers and Brewers could be heard blocks away as he rooted them on. Denny was also a loving grandfather who enjoyed every second spent with his grandchildren, Mason and Maddi.

He is survived by his son, Justin Sly of Seattle, WA; his daughter, Amanda Sly (significant other, Josh Enneper) both of Sheboygan, WI; his grandson, Mason Sly-Nieuwenhuis of Sheboygan, WI; his granddaughter, Maddilynn Sly-Enneper of Sheboygan, WI; his former wife, Shelly (Jim) Sly-Gerk of Sheboygan, WI; his step-father, Darrel Newman of Eau Claire, WI; his two brothers, Gary Sly of Eau Claire, WI and David (Janet) Sly of Sheboygan, WI; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his son, Joel Sly.

A celebration of Denny's life will take place on Saturday, June 29th at Sly's Midtown Saloon from 2:00pm-6:00pm.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.
