Kiefer, Frank P.
Frank Peter Kiefer, age 81, of Sheboygan, died on March 26th, 2013 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. He was born in Sheboygan on August 4, 1931 the son of the late John and Anna Pitch Kiefer.
Frank attended St. Peter Claver School and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1949. He was employed at Kohler Company before service in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on August 24, 1953. Frank then proceeded with a 4 year apprenticeship in sheet metal fabrication, graduating in 1957.
On May 14, 1954 he was united in marriage to Janet DeBack, they were married for 24 years. Janet preceded him in death on March 18, 1979. Frank later married Margaret (Stahl) Shircel on October 4, 1986. Frank and Margaret shared 26 years together. He was also employed at Ted Kuck Co., Aldag Sheet Metal and Rohde Brothers, retiring in 1986. Frank was a 50 year member of the Sheet Metal Local 18 of Milwaukee, a former member of the Sportsmen's Club and a current member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
He enjoyed playing cards, taxidermy, fishing, hunting, camping, sport shooting, playing darts in the senior league and crafting flower pictures from wild bird feathers.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; a sister, Collette Hickman ,his children, Michael (Katie) Kiefer, Joel (Cindy) Kiefer, Katie (Joe) Plachinski, Karen (Brian) Wanek; step-children, Diane Nordquist, Joan (Jim) Kossman, Mary Jo (Chad) Parrott, Ed (Diane) Shircel, Tom (Cindy) Shircel, Steve (Vicki) Shircel, Andrew (Brenda) Shircel; grandchildren, Kevin and Ryan Kiefer, Joel John II, Nikki and Kenny Kiefer, Bethany, Leah, Sarah and Ellie Plachinski, Rachel Wanek, Kimberly Porter, Kristine Nordquist, Mindy Lukaszewski, Jennifer, Jason and Joshua Kossman, Joe, Scott, Katie and Megan Shircel, Jolene Heuchert, Jessica, Anthony and Ashlyn Shircel, Zack and Tyler Schneider, Jacob and Kayla Shircel, Audrey, Colin and Murial Parrott. Frank is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Janet and his brothers, John and Carl Kiefer.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 1, 2013 at 12:00P.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1305 Humboldt Ave., Sheboygan with Rev. Richard Cerpich, officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 10:00A.M. until the time of service at 12:00P.M. A private burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established and may be directed to the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and St. Coletta Day School of Milwaukee, Wisconsin has been established.
Frank's family would like to thank the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the compassion and care that was extended to him.
