Goldie M. Lorge, age, 91 of 206 Broadway, Sheboygan Falls died peacefully Saturday evening January 12, 2013 at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the former Goldie Bean, born December 8, 1921 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Herman & Pearl Steen Bean.

Goldie graduated from Villa Grove High School in Illinois. On June 12, 1943 she married John H. Lorge at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. John preceded her in death on December 13, 1993.

Prior to marriage Goldie was employed for the State of Illinois, auditors office in the Banking Dept., Springfield, IL. She was employed at Pine Haven Christian Home for 17 years retiring in 1987. She also had been employed as a crossing guard for the City of Sheboygan Falls, which she was instrumental in starting.

Goldie was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Sheboygan Falls and a former member of the Christian Women. She also had been a Cub Scout Mother in Waldo.

Goldie enjoyed writing poetry, furniture refinishing, doll collecting and gardening, especially flowers. Goldie was affectionately known as the "Flower Lady" as people would stop by and comment about her beautiful flowers and ask for "tips" on flower gardening. She would offer plant "slips" to anyone who would ask.

Survivors include her five children: John "Jack" (Christa) Lorge, Kohler, Sally Peterson, Waupaca, Robert (Karen) Lorge, Sheboygan, Mary (John) Vollstedt, Kiel, Michael (Melody) Lorge, Sheboygan Falls, seventeen grandchildren: Jacqueline Wakefield, Todd (Leigh) Lorge, Patrick (Jennifer) Lorge, John Paul (Jaime) Lorge, Dean Kaat, Ingrid Kaat, Lesli (Steve) Frank, Kristen (Jon) Kraus, Laura (Mike) Lundgren, Andrew Lorge, Grant Lorge, Jessica (Randy) Schwaller, Jaime Bulitz (Todd Westphalen), Eric (Amanda) Bulitz, Bethany Hickmann, Ashley Lorge (Fiance Ryan Zak), Carley Lorge, twenty-one great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Lynne (Merl) Elston, Catlin, IL, Betty Wilson, Danville, IL, Phyllis Bean, Danville, IL, one sister-in-law, Violet Bean, Decatur, IL, Goldie is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, James & Lawrence Bean and one son-in-law, Richard D. Peterson and one brother-in-law, Harold Wilson.

The funeral mass for Goldie will be celebrated at 7:00pm on Wednesday January 16, 2013 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Sheboygan Falls with Fr. Robert Lotz officiating.

Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Sheboygan Falls.

Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 4:00pm until 6:45pm when we will have brief family rites.

Goldie's family would like to thank all the nurses and staff as well as all her drivers at Kidney Dialysis for their kindness and help. They would also like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for the care given to Goldie and her family these last days. They would also like to thank Dr. Kerpe and his nurse Carrie along with Jean and Mike at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home.
