Irene Marten (Nee Tauber), age 89, formerly of Sheboygan Falls, passed away late Saturday Evening (Feb. 9) at Countryside Manor in Sheboygan where she had been a resident for the past seven months.
She was born on March 2, 1923 in Waldo, Wisconsin (Town of Lyndon), a daughter of the late Joseph and Louise Bergin Tauber.
She attended the Waldo Grade School in Waldo.
She married Edwin F. "Butch" Marten on August 24, 1940 in Sheboygan Falls. The couple has resided in the Town of Lima since their marriage.
Her husband preceded her on March 27, 2012.
Survivors include: Two sons: Wayne Marten of Ontario, Canada and David J. (Jackqueline) Marten of Town of Lima; Four grandchildren: Angela (Tim) Dulmes of Hingham, Gary (Joelean) Marten of Town of Lima, Ernst Marten of Ontario, Canada and Erica Marten of Ontario, Canada; Two great grandchildren: Aden and Crystal Dulmes of Hingham; One brother-in-law: William Marten of Florida; Two Sister-in-laws: Margaret Marten of the Town of Lima and Virginia Marten of Florida.
Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by two brothers Leonard (Lucy) and Clyde (Glendora) Tauber, two sisters Adeline (Bill) Schneider and Evelyn Tauber.
Following Irene's wishes, Cremation has taken place. There will be NO SERIVCES OR VISITATION. Inurnment will be at the Waldo Cemetery.
