Karla Ann Born, age 51, of Plymouth, joined her God in heaven on Friday, October 26, 2012 after a courageous and long-fought battle with breast cancer.

She left this earth surrounded by her dedicated husband and adoring family.

Karla was born December 19, 1960 in Plymouth, WI to Thomas Thomas and the late Mary Matthews Thomas. She attended school in Waldo and Sheboygan Falls with many life-long friends, graduating from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1979. She was looking forward to participating in another successful bake sale benefiting the at Sargento this fall.

Since childhood, Karla actively rode and showed horses with friends and family. She was an accomplished seamstress, at one point owning her own business creating wedding dresses. Karla continued her passion for sewing by designing show outfits for her children. She is also known for her crocheting and the many pieces she has made while going through treatments. Karla's pink garden has also been a source of pride and serenity for her.

Karla's strong faith and perseverance were an inspiration to many. She viewed every day as a gift from God and was continually thankful for the many friends she met during her journey with cancer.

Karla was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by her husband, Jeffrey Born of Plymouth; Children: Krystal (Jason) Wettengel of Green Bay, WI, Travis Born of Galva, IL, and Tiffany Born of Plymouth; her father: Thomas Thomas of Plymouth; Brothers: Kent (Kathy) Thomas of Waldo and Keith (Lisa) Thomas of Kenosha, WI; Sisters: Kayrle Seiber Buffalo Grove, IL and Kelly Thomas of Hartford, WI; Her Mother and Father-in-law: Robert and Nancy Born of Sheboygan Falls, WI, Brothers-in-law: Kenneth (Sara) Born of Sheboygan and Steven Born of Kennesaw, GA, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
