Leslie Lemus, age 9, became an angel of the Lord Tuesday evening, February 21, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Leslie was born February 25, 2002 in Janesville, WI to Faustino Lemus and Paula Contreras.
She attended the Early Learning Center and Longfellow Elementary School. During the summer of 2008, Leslie was the victim of a near drowning accident in Lake Michigan after which she attended James Madison Elementary School for a short time.
Leslie was a lovely little girl who enjoyed playing dress-up and always had a beautiful smile. She also loved her role as aunt.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sisters, Cynthia, Denise, Adriana, and Vanessa; her brother, Faustino, Jr.; and many relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 12 Noon on Leslie's 10th Birthday, Saturday, February 25, 2012 at St. Clement Catholic Church. Rev. James E. Connell, the Pastor, will be the Celebrant. A time of visitation and support will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
Ballhorn Chapels is assisting the family.
Leslie will always be remembered for her smiles and laughter and her unique, sparkling personality that drew people to her. She will be dearly missed and always in our hearts.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the excellent staff at Children's Hospital in Wauwatosa for their care and support these last few years. A special thank you also to Dr. Opel at Aurora Sheboygan Clinic and the staff at Aurora Visiting Nurses Association, including Cindy, Judy, Lisa, Patricia, Marianne, MaryAnn, Jodie, Ann, and Marie for their tremendous ongoing support. Special thanks to many dear friends and Leslie's closely knit family for their care and concern.
