Lillian Roe

Lillian "Schnookie" Roe - nee Rauscher

Lillian 'Schnookie" Roe went to the Lord on January 19, 2013 after a hard fought battle with sarcoma.

Born on May 2, 1938 in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late George and Rose (Gruber) Rauscher, she attended Holy Name Catholic School and Central High School in Sheboygan.

On January 6th, 1956 she married Norman Roe at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.

Schnookie was a dedicated hard worker, enjoying her time at National Foods, Kroger Foods, Kindt Lumber and Shorewest Realtors.

She was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and also a member of Sheboygan's B.G.T.E.V. D'Werdenfelser Schuhplattler Verein, a Bavarian folkdance group where she danced from childhood until the time of her illness alongside 5 generations of her family, from her parents to her great-grandchildren. She won several medals and eventually became a judge in national dance competitions. She was the club secretary for 21 years, and sewed many Dirndls and other costume accessories for the membership. Always the Energizer Bunny, she loved to sew, roller skate, play league golf, play Bavarian sheep head, attend family camping trips, ride in the passenger seat on cross country road trips, visit Disney World, gamble in Las Vegas and Keshena, and watch the Green Bay Packers. She was the grandma that showed her great-grandchildren how to turn a proper cartwheel.

Survivors include her husband, 4 children Sherry (Allen) Brotz, Tod (Wendy) Roe, Jody (Denise Walkowiak) Roe, Tracy Roe; 8 Grandchildren Brian (Kelly) Brotz, Bradd Brotz, Kaurie(Josh) Mihm, Kelly (Cory) Boeldt, Joseph Roe, Jared (Taylor) Roe, Ashley Hewitt, Alex Roe-Gulke. 12 great-grand children Aiden, Rylee, Brenna and Nolan Brotz; Kallen and Stella Mihm; Elyse and Reece Boeldt; Blake, Faith and Roman Roe; Lyric Roe; her sister Gloria (Donald) Gerk, brothers-in-law Peter (Orma) Roe, Svend Roe, Kim Zabel, sisters-in-law Melanie (Rick) Nick, Sandy Roe, many cousins and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law Knud and Lorraine Roe, her brother and sister-in-law Albert and Ellie Rauscher, brother-in-law Neal Roe, sisters-in-law Jeanne Roe, Ruth Zabel, Janet Roe, and infant granddaughter Danielle Roe-Gulke.

Family and friends may call at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home with Deacon Mike Burch officiating. Burial to follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
