Larson, Lucille R. (1925-2014)
Lucille Ruth (Mulder) Larson, age 88, of Plymouth, passed away late Sunday evening (March 9) at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan.
She was born on July 12, 1925 in the Town of Lima to the late James and Mary Carman Mulder; attended Whittier Grade School in Waldo and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1943.
She worked at Cleveland Container Company in Plymouth before her marriage.
On January 31, 1948, she married Arden (Bob) Larson in Hingham, Wis. The couple resided in Plymouth since their marriage. Her husband preceded her in death on January 6th, 1969.
She was church secretary for Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth for over 20 years. She worked for the Plymouth Salvation Army from 1994 until retiring in 1999.
She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth where she was a Sunday school teacher; belonged to the Willing Workers, the Naomi Circle and Salem's Reading Circle in the Church.
Lucille was a former leader of the Plymouth Peppers 4-H Club, a charter member of the Plymouth VFW
World Cheese Center Post #5612 Auxiliary in which she served as president for five terms. She was also 6th district VFW Auxiliary president, followed by eight years as treasurer. She was a member and past president of the Russell W. Mulder American Legion Auxiliary Post #462 in Adell and held offices in the Plymouth AARP Association. She had belonged to the Rocky Knoll Auxiliary volunteering every Thursday in their 'Country Store', where she was known as the 'popcorn lady'.
Survivors include two sons: Richard (Marilyn) Larson of Plymouth and Jeffrey (Linda) Larson of Green Bay; three daughters: Dr. Patricia and Rev. Mark Jaberg of Howards Grove, Mary (Ron) Pulak of Green Bay, WI and Susan (Donald) Johnston of Jackson, WI; eleven grandchildren: Leisl (Borna) Bonakdarpour Jaberg of Morton Grove, IL, Peter (Lisa) Jaberg of Nixa, MO, Tim (Linda) Jaberg of Madison, Scott Pulak of Chicago, IL, Craig Pulak of Marquette, MI, Lynn (Don) Behr of Plymouth, Annette Larson of Plymouth, Natalie Larson of Milwaukee, Emily (Matt) Smith of Morton Grove, IL, Laura (Ryan) Baxter of San Diego, CA, and Bailey Larson of Milwaukee; great-grandchildren: Adrienne and Hailey Behr; Alexandra, Mason, Lilliana and Jackson Jaberg; Nickrooz Bonakdarpour-Jaberg, Isaac Baxter, Marlo Bodart, and Abigail Smith; two great-great-grandchildren: Austin and Delilah Behr; two sisters: Edith Orlenko of Sheboygan and Janet (David) Walvoord of Oostburg; two brothers: Wesley (Leona) Mulder of West Bend and Charles (Judy) Mulder of Delavan; three sisters-in-law: Madge Brunover of Oshkosh, WI, Ruth Larson of Weyauwega, WI and Winifred Mulder of Stoughton, WI.
Lucille is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Rick Larson; one great grandson, Samyar Bonakdarpour Jaberg; one sister, Ellen Rafterry; three brothers Willard, David and infant Harvey Mulder; three sisters-in-law: Ilene Larson, Luella Larson, Lucile Marks; six brothers-in-law: Kenneth Larson, Arvin Larson, Clarence Marks, John Rafterry, John Orlenko and William Brunover.
Funeral Services will be held at Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth on Friday (March 14) at 11:30 A.M. Rev. James Hoppert, pastor of the church will officiate. Interment will be at Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth on Thursday evening (March 13) from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. and at the CHURCH from 10:30 A.M. on Friday until the time of services.
VFW World Cheese Center Post # 5612 Auxiliary will conduct services at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday evening.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Lucille's name for Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth.
