Holzmann, Margaret Ann (1926-2014)
Margaret Ann Holzmann, age 87, of Greenbush, WI, passed away late Thursday evening (May 1st) at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
She was born on October 6, 1926 in Mt. Calvary, WI, a daughter of the late Albert and Minnie (Abler) Schrage.
She graduated from St. Mary Springs in Fond du Lac in 1944.
On June 21, 1952 she married Vernon Holzmann at Holy Cross Church in Mt. Calvary. The couple has resided in Greenbush since their marriage. They celebrated their 60th anniversary in June of 2012. She dearly loved her husband and children and her children will always remember instilling in us good values, manners and faith.
Margaret was a member of the Christian Mother's, the golf league at Crystal Lake and the Glenbeulah bowling league.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, doing crossword puzzles, bird watching, reading history books about the Civil War and World War II
, spending time with her family, trips to Europe, Mexico and Hawaii and loved listening to the Brewer games on the front porch and watching the Packers and going to garage sales and auctions.
Survivors include her loving husband: Vernon of Greenbush; five children: Mary Jo (Paul) Mesich of Sheboygan, Mike (Tina) Holzmann of Plymouth, Marjean Mueller of Sheboygan, Mark Holzmann of Stoughton, WI and Cathy (Peter) Pagelow of Elkhart Lake, WI; five grandchildren: Matt Mueller of Denver, CO, Tim Holzmann of Sheboygan and Nicole, Yohann and Kaleah Holzmann of Stoughton, WI; two sisters: Helen (Ambrose) Schmitz and Judy (Paul) Runkel; one brother: Robert (Aggie) Schrage; two sisters-in-law: Violet Schrage and Kathleen Bardon.
Also survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter: Maureen; brother: Charlie Schrage and her mother and father-in-law: Loretta and Art Holzmann; two sisters-in-law: Gerry (Raymond) Holzmann and Duffy Hamby.
Memorial Mass will be held on Monday Evening (May 5) at 6:00 P.M. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake. Father Dan Volkert, pastor of the church will officiate. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in the St. Thomas Aquinas South Cemetery in Greenbush.
Friends may call at the Resurrection Chapel at St. Thomas Aquinas Church from 3:00 P.M. on Monday until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Margaret's name.
