Marion Back, age 84, of 1231 Eisner Avenue, was taken home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, June 15, 2011.
Marion was born August 15, 1926 in Sheboygan to Jan and Josina (Vreeke) VanDerPuy. She was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School.
On September 26, 1947 Marion and Randall J. Back were united in marriage. The couple enjoyed bird watching, taking scenic drives through Sheboygan County and family vacations in the Kettle Moraine area. Randall preceded her in death on July 2, 2002.
Marion was a faithful member of First Christian Reformed Church where she was actively involved in the Mission Society, the Radio Broadcast Choir, Vacation Bible School, and was the Prayer Chain Coordinator.
She is survived by sons, Steven Back, Dale (friend Kristi) Back and Tom (Linda) Back; daughter-in-law, Norma Back; ten grandchildren, Julie (David) Theune, Jana (Jon) Shufflebotham, Jon Back, Tracy (Scot) Barts, Eric Back, Kevin Back, Nicole (fianc?, Betinho Feitoza) Back, Aaron (Kindra) Back, Daniel Back, Kendalin Back; six great-grandchildren, Abigail Barts, Kaitlyn Barts, Connor Barts, Linsey Theune, Bryson Shufflebotham, and Ana Julia Back Feitoza; two brothers, Richard (Sue) VanDerPuy and Weber (Joyce) VanDerPuy; one sister, Pearl Sadler; one sister-in-law, Margaret VanDerPuy; one brother-in-law, John Dekker; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Loraine (Paul) TeLindert; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jane Back; her son, Kenneth Back; brothers, Cornelius VanDerPuy and Abe VanDerPuy; sisters, Leona Dekker, Betty Brasser, and Jenny Eggebeen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011 at First Christian Reformed Church. Rev. Larry Meyer, Pastor, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Gibbsville Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in Marion's name for First Christian Reformed Church and Sheboygan Christian School.
Marion's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the friends and staff at Terrace Estates and the caregivers at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
