Buss, Marvin "Bud"
Marvin "Bud" Buss, age 95, of Sheboygan (formerly of Elkhart Lake), died peacefully early Sunday morning (December 2) at the Sheboygan Progressive Care Center.
He was born on April 10, 1917 in Cascade, the son of the late John and Emilie Buss.
He attended Plymouth Schools.
On September 14, 1946, he married Charlotte Hummitzsch at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in the Town of Sheboygan Falls. They celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary on September 3, 2011. The couple resided in the Elkhart Lake area for most of their married life. His wife preceded him in death on October 13, 2011. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II
He was a carpenter at Deicher Construction for 35 years until his retirement in 1979. Up until age 85, he enjoyed doing carpenter projects for many of the Crystal Lake & Elkhart Lake cottage owners.
He was a member of Community United Church of Christ in Elkhart Lake.
Bud enjoyed playing sheepshead, shaking dice, trips to casinos, fishing and was an avid fan of the Brewers & Packers. He loved to go for "coffee breaks" at the many restaurants in the area.
Survivors include his children: Jean (David) Amel of Kiel, James (Carla) Buss of Sheboygan, John (Lorrie) Buss of Elkhart Lake, and Jill (Kirby, Sr.) Griese of Sheboygan; six grandchildren: Dana (William) Fenili of Appleton, Tracy (Arden) Anderson of Fond du Lac, Tonya (Andrew) Zinger of Elkhart Lake, Cathy (Kurt) Goehre of DePere, Brian Brandt of Plymouth and Amy (Corbin) Schad of Elkhart Lake; two step grandchildren: Kirby Lee Griese, Jr. and Roseanna Griese both of Sheboygan; ten great grandchildren; one step great grandchild and special extended family: Michael (Julie) Bieber. Bud is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years: Charlotte; parents; two brothers: Jerome & Everett; one sister: LaVerne; one grandson: Adam Buss and one great granddaughter: Josie Schad.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday evening (Dec. 5th) at 7:00 P.M. at Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. Gregory Whelton, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ in Sheboygan will officiate. Cremation will follow the services and inurnment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in the Town of Sheboygan.
Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth on Wednesday evening (Dec. 5th) from 5:00 P.M. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Marvin's name.
