Raymond W. "Ray" Kuhn Sr.
Raymond W. Kuhn, age 89 of Sheboygan passed away Friday morning June 27, 2014. Raymond was born June 14, 1925 in Kiel, WI to the late Walter and Clara (Schaeferkort) Kuhn. Raymond attended school in Sheboygan Falls and graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1944. He then attended Mission House College. Raymond proudly served his country in the US Air Force in the South Pacific from 1944 until 1946. He was employed as a journeyman machinist at Curt Joa and Kohler General, retiring after 44 years of service in 1990. He was an instructor at Lakeshore Technical Institute in the machine shop. Raymond was a lifetime member of Sheboygan VFW
Post #9156, and the Sheboygan Historical Society. On December 6, 1947 he married Melba E. Gerke. She preceded him in death on April 4, 1984. He then married Margaret E. Jugenheimer on December 24, 1990. She preceded him in death on January 21, 2013. Ray was an avid sportsman, loved the outdoors and especially fishing trips to Canada with his son, Ray. He also enjoyed gardening, and was a #1 Green Bay Packer fan.
Raymond is survived by two sons Raymond (Mary) Kuhn of Grand Junction, CO, Gregory (Mary) Kuhn of Sheboygan; a daughter Diane (Jim) Matzdorf of Sheboygan; stepson John Jugenheimer of Sheboygan; grandchildren Stephanie (David Hang) Kuhn of Chicago and Shelby Kuhn of Sheboygan. Raymond is further survived by nieces and nephews.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and a brothers James, Leroy and Lester.
Family and friends may call at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Deacon Rich Gulig officiating. Burial will follow in the Sheboygan Falls Cemetery with military honors being accorded by Sheboygan VFW Post #9156.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Ray's name.
