Kaiser, Robert L.
Robert "Bob" L. Kaiser, age 67, of Mount Calvary, died Friday, January 11, 2013, at his home, with his loving family at his side, following a battle with cancer since 2004.
He was born on January 12, 1945 on the family homestead in Calvary Station to the late Eugene & Nicella (Simon) Kaiser
Bob attended Holy Cross Grade School and New Holstein High School. He worked at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac for 37 years retiring in 2005.
On January 28, 1967, he married Katherine "Lyla" Keifenheim at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mount Calvary.
Bob was a member of St. Isidore Parish Holy Cross Church in Mount Calvary, the Pipe Fishing Club, Fisherman's Road Fishing Club, and Riverside Hunting & Fishing Club. He enjoyed sturgeon spearing, deer hunting with his family and friends, making sausage, canning, playing sheephead & Euchre, his house boat trips in Canada, the yearly trip to Louisiana, but most of all being with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Lyla; his three children, Paula (Steve) Morgen of New Holstein, Bill (Julie) Kaiser of Malone and Sandi (Bob) Clement of Fond du Lac; five grandchildren, Ryan Morgen, Kristina & Alex Kaiser, and Jacob & Kayla Clement; two great-grandsons, Ethin & Carter; two sisters, Joanne (Jerry) Burg of Mount Calvary and Ruth (Gene "Beno") Rusch of Brownsville; two brothers, Donald (Carol) Kaiser of Mount and Michael (Rosie) Kaiser both of Mount Calvary; a sister-in-law, Julie Kaiser of Mount Calvary; three brothers-in-law, John Halbach of rural St. Cloud, Jerome "Jerry" Keifenheim and his special friend, Kathy, of Fond du Lac, and Phillip (Jane) Keifenheim of West Monroe, LA; many nieces, nephews, friends; and his furry companion, Mutzy.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Eugene & Nicella Kaiser; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gordon & Winnie Keifenheim; two brothers, Gerald and Richard Kaiser; and a sister, Mae Catherine "Kate" Halbach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at St. Isidore Parish Holy Cross Church, 308 County Road W in Mount Calvary. Rev. Gary Wegner OFM Cap. and Rev. Michael Bertram OFM Cap. will concelebrate. Following the traditional services, cremation will take place and inurnment will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery this spring.
Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 1311 Thorp Street in St. Cloud on Monday, January 14, 2013, from 4:00 - 8:00 PM and again at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9:00 - 10:30 AM when brief rites will be held.
A prayer service will be held at the funeral home Monday evening at 8:00 PM.
A memorial fund will be established in his name.
