William E. Pfleger
William E. Pfleger, age 81, of Plymouth went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Plymouth Care Center.
He was born on August 18, 1931 in Plymouth son of the late Walter "Pete" and Hilda (Kratz) Pfleger.
He attended Plymouth Grade Schools and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1950.
After high school William heard the call of his country and joined the United States Air Force
, due to illness his service was brief and he received an honorable discharge.
He married Betty Jean Allwardt on October 29, 1955 at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
William was a former member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth and a current member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Plymouth.
During his working years he worked for RH Versch, Gilson Brothers, Lawn Boy and Toro for 34 years.
In his free time he loved to ride on his motorcycle around the country side until Parkinson disease hindered him from doing so. He also loved to hunt and take his children fishing.
He is survived by his Betty of Plymouth, three children Jeffrey Pfleger, and Michael Pfleger of Plymouth, and Julie (Tim) Walczak of Cascade, two grandchildren Ashley and Nicholas two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Donald (Gladys) Allwardt of Port Washington, Daniel (Johnella) Allwardt of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers-in-law, Robert, James, and John Allwardt.
Funeral services will be at 5 PM on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Schneider Funeral Home (123 South Street) Plymouth with Mother Marie Gray of St. Paul Episcopal Church officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 3 PM until the time of service.
