Winkler, Adeline M.

Adeline M. Winkler, age 75, of rural St. Cloud "St. Joe", passed away at her home with her family at her side on Sunday, December 29, 2013.

The former Adeline Stephanie was born April 1, 1938 to the late Norbert & Angela (Koenigs) Stephanie.

Adeline attended St. Joseph Catholic Grade School and graduated from St. Mary's Springs High School in 1956.

On October 29, 1960, she married David Winkler at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joe. She and her husband, along with their family, farmed in the Town of Marshfield. Adeline enjoyed helping her family operate the farm, enjoyed quilting, baking, gardening, and shelling the hickory nuts gathered by her grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Isidore Parish-St. Joseph Church, the Christian Mother's Society, and the St. Joe Quilters Club.

Survivors include her husband, David; her seven children, Dan (Pat) Winkler of St. Cloud, Mark (Mary Jo) Winkler of St. Cloud "St. Joe", Dale (Dawn) Winkler of New Holstein, Chris (Pete) Goeser of St. Cloud, Eileen (John) Diedrich of St. Cloud, Mary (Don) Daun of St. Cloud and Cindy (Troy) Johnson of St. Cloud; 20 grandchildren, Stacy Winkler (Fiancée, Jacob), Jenny and Sarah Winkler, Matthew, Nicholas, Katelynn, and Elizabeth Winkler, Jessica, Tanner, and Kelli Jo Winkler, Nicole and Stephanie Goeser, Jackie, Jodi, Jill, and Jessica Diedrich, Alisha and Jacob Daun, and Devon and Brooke Johnson; her sisters and brother, Lydia (Kenneth) Turba of St. Anna, Lester (Peggy) Stephanie of Abbottsford, WI, Juliana (Richard) Ruffing of New Holstein, Valeria (Larry) Kemp of St. Anna, Kathy (Paul) Wagner of Mount Calvary, and Ann (Art) Hage of Mt. Horeb; her sister-in-law, Jackie (John) Zimmerman of Dallas, WI and Barb Winkler Merten of Mount Calvary.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Norbert & Angela Stephanie, a daughter, Elizabeth; her brother, Stanley Stephanie; a sister-in-law, Betty Stephanie; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John & Irene Winkler; and a brother-in-law, James Winkler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 3, 2014, at St. Isidore Parish-St. Joseph Church W620 County Road G St. Cloud, WI 53079 "St. Joe". Rev. Gary Wegner OFM Cap. will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 1311 Thorp Street in St. Cloud on Thursday, January 2nd from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again at the funeral home Friday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM when brief rites will be held.

A prayer service will be held at the funeral home Thursday evening at 7:45 PM.

Memorials in Adeline's name may be directed for diabetes research.
