Agnes V. Mersberger, 91, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Pine Haven Residential in Sheboygan Falls.
Agnes was born on September 30, 1920, in the Town of Wilson, daughter of Peter and Mary (Ardts) Haen. She was a 1938 graduate of Oostburg High School. On May 16, 1942 she married John W. Mersberger at St. George Catholic Church in the Town of Wilson.
Agnes was a lifetime member of St. George Catholic Church and then Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls. She was a member of St. Lawrence Seminary Guild, Christian Mother's Society, St. Vincent DePaul, and the Legion of Mary.
Agnes was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will always be remembered for her strong faith, devotion to prayer, compassion and generosity for others and a "smile" that will be carried on by her family. As a busy mom, she always had time for others, spending endless hours volunteering.
She took pride in raising 10 children on the farm at Six Corners. Baseball was a family pastime and she enjoyed being the "all-time" pitcher. Her love of sports made her an avid Packers and Brewers fan.
Her cooking and baking were exceptional from delicious apple pie to pork and sauerkraut. Her garden was bountiful and produced jars and jars of salsa, tomato juice and dill pickles. Agnes enjoyed card playing with family and friends with countless games of sheepshead, skat, bridge, rummy and tricks. Polka music was her favorite and trips to "Dreamland Dance Hall" were wonderful times during John and Agnes' courtship years. Fun trips to Oneida spent with her daughters are cherished memories.
Agnes is survived by two daughters, Joanne (Peter)Thede of Sheboygan Falls and Janet (John) McMullen of Cedar Grove; eight sons, Philip of Oostburg, Edward (Judy) of Sheboygan Falls, John (Kris) of Plymouth, Don (Morreen) of Plymouth, Michael (Patricia) of Sheboygan Falls, Jacob (Jeanne) of Burlington, Peter (Marilyn) of Sheboygan Falls, and Paul (Jill) Mersberger of Sheboygan; 21 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; one sister, Florence Mulloy of Sheboygan; three brothers, Roman (Mildred) Haen of Plymouth, Alphonse Haen of Sheboygan, and Norbert (Adeline) Haen of Sheboygan Falls; one sister-in-law, Marie Haen of Appleton.
