Bernice Elaine Erdmann

Bernice Elaine Erdmann, age 82, of Elkhart Lake, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. Bernice passed away on her beloved husbands 85th birthday.

She was born in Green Bay on March 12, 1930 daughter of the late Andrew and Gertrude Erickson. She was baptized into the family of God on June 15th 1930 at Methodist Episcopal Church in Seymour.

Bernice attended grade school and high school and continued her education at the Bellin School of Nursing receiving a degree in 1952.

On August 1, 1953 she married Marvin Erdmann in New London at First Methodist Church. The couple then made there home in Two Rivers, Neenah, Omro, and eventually moved to Elkhart Lake to be closer to family.

She was a current member of Grace Lutheran Church in Elkhart Lake.

Bernice was very passionate about nursing and always worked hard to give back to the field of nursing by furthering her education and educating others whenever an opportunity presented itself. She became an instructor and taught post graduate classes and courses on Death, Dying, and Geriatrics. Still to this day she keeps in contact with many of her coworkers and students she has met over the years. During her rewarding career she worked for Milwaukee County Mental Hospital, Two Rivers Memorial, Theda Clark Regional Medical Center, Omro Care Center, Weyauwega and Shawano Health Care Centers, Rocky Knoll and Willowdale retiring in 1993.

In her free time she enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, baking, making candy, puzzles and knitting.

She is survived by her loving husband Marvin of Elkhart Lake, two children Michael (Julie) Erdmann of Plymouth, Andrea (Kevin) Erdmann-Byrnes of Princeton, seven grandchildren Ayla Erdmann of Milwaukee, Mariah Erdmann of Plymouth, Kelly Mueller of Plymouth, Shawn (Patty) Mueller of Plymouth, Malinda Mueller of Naples, FL, Emily Erdmann of Oshkosh, and Andrew Erdmann of Oshkosh, one great grandchild Elayana Mueller and a daughter-in-law DeeAnna Erdmann of Oshkosh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son David Erdmann, and a brother Ken Erickson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church in Elkhart Lake with the Rev. Peter Peitsch officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Lawn Cemetery Garden of Valor in the Town of Sheboygan. Friend may call at the Schneider Funeral Home (123 South Street) Plymouth on Friday from 4 to 7 PM and again at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
