Spies, Donna Dolores
Donna Dolores Spies, 80, of The Villages, entered into eternal life, Friday, May 10, 2013. Born in Sheboygan, WI, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Irene (Manthey) Jerale. Donna was a registered nurse, though her primary joy in life was being a loving wife to her husband, Jacob and a mother to her wonderful children. She was an active reader who loved to travel. She possessed a great laugh, was proficient in needle works such as knitting, crocheting and needle point, and she also enjoyed painting. Donna and her husband, Jacob, were long time residents of The Villages, after living in Wausau, WI, Boston, MA, and Dallas, TX. She was of the Episcopal faith and was a member of St. George Episcopal Church in The Villages. She leaves her husband of 58 years, Jacob Spies; children, Joni Vanselow of Lino Lakes, MN; Gary Spies of Richland, MI; Shari Spies of Albuquerque, NM; brothers, Joel Jerale of Phoenix, AZ; Lance Jerale of Manitowoc, MN; sister, Kenlyn Brightly of Toms River, NJ; and (5) grandchildren, Michelle Vanselow, Jason Vanselow, Jesse Vanselow, Ella Spies and Henry Spies. Funeral services, followed by a reception, will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013, in St. George Episcopal Church, 1250 Paige Place, The Villages, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. George Episcopal Church.
