Doris C. Hocking, 80, of the town of Newton, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at St. Nicholas Hospital.
Doris was born on August 16, 1932 in Laurium, Michigan the daughter of the late Edwin and Lorraine (DeMarois) Mills. She attended schools there graduating from Sacred Heart High School in 1950. On June 5, 1954 she was united in marriage to Frederick Hocking. They resided in Michigan where she was an operator for Michigan Bell Telephone Company. After coming to Sheboygan she was employed with Decorative Arts. Doris was proud of and enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and reading.
Doris is survived by her husband, Frederick, Sr.; her six children, Ann (Jerome) Glomski of Sussex, Frederick (Lisa) Hocking, Jr. of Sheboygan, Joseph (Debbie) Hocking of Hingham, James (Renee) Hocking of Sheboygan, Jean (William) Worth of Waldo and Janet (Robert) Petermann of Sheboygan; eight grandchildren, LeeAnn Glomski, Jerome Glomski, Jennifer Reynolds, Frederick Hocking, III, Joseph Hocking, Jr., Daniel Hocking, Kaitlyn Shaw, and Tanya Hocking; eight great grandchildren; her sisters, Jean (Royce) Paquette of Milwaukee and Peggy Rheault of Michigan and a sister-in-law, Frances Mills of Michigan. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other family members. Doris was preceded in death by a sister, Frances, brother, Gary and a granddaughter, Cynthia Worth.
A private family service will be held at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home with Deacon Rich Gulig officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Doris's family would like to thank the staff at the Sheboygan Senior Community especially Janet, Sierra, Joyce, Jason, Tammy, Cindy and Lisa for all their care and compassion.
