The Guest Book is expired.
Edna F. Fluhr, age 88, of Chilton, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Homestead Care Center in New Holstein.
She was born January 15, 1925, daughter of the late Morris & Emma (Alden) Hertzein. She married Elroy Fluhr on April 6, 1946 in Kiel; he preceded her in death on January 5, 1987.
Earlier in her life, Edna worked for the Chilton Canning Co. and later worked for the Chilton Public Schools as a janitor.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Ebenezer United Church of Christ where she also volunteered many years teaching the Kindergarten Sunday School class.
Edna enjoyed going for walks, raising a vegetable garden and canning much of what she had grown. Edna was a big CHS sports fan and rarely missed a high school sporting event; her boisterous cheers gave the kids playing a boost and on occasion Edna would let the refs know they blew a call. The athletes also appreciated Edna's presence because there was a good chance she had put her baking expertise to use and brought her famous, yummy red velvet cake for after the game. She was a happy-go-lucky person whose caring and selfless soul will be greatly missed, but treasured in the hearts of those who loved her.
Survivors include her children: Richard Fluhr of Las Vegas, Terry (Arleen) Fluhr of Chilton, Linda (Richard) Baty of Conway, AR; 4 grandchildren: Eric, Tim, Angela, & Brandon; 4 great-grandchildren; and a sister: Nell Lett of West Bend.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother: Morris, Jr.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Ebenezer United Church of Christ (44 W. Washington) in Chilton with the Rev. Kathy Rust officiating. Burial will be in the Town of Eaton Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W.
