Frederick "Fritz" Hasler

Frederick "Fritz" Hasler, 88, of W6168 Cty MM, Elkhart Lake died Wednesday morning October 9, 2013 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

He was born April 15, 1925 in Rio, WI, son of the late Fred & Inez (Schneider) Hasler.

Fritz was a 1943 graduate of Elkhart Lake High School.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving his country in the Pacific Theater during WWII.

He was a self-employed milk hauler for many years. He later worked at Sohn Mfg. in Elkhart Lake until his retirement.

Fritz was a member of St. Paul's Christian Church, Town of Russell.

He was an active member of the Elkhart Lake Lions Club where received the highest honor as a Lion, the Melvin Jones Award. He also held the office of treasurer for the Lions Club for 25 years and pulled the Lions float in many local parades. He was especially proud of his many years of perfect attendance. Fritz was a member of the Glenbeulah American Legion Post # 484 and was a 21 gallon blood donor for the Elkhart Lake Red Cross.

Fritz enjoyed the time he spent with his many friends. He was especially grateful these past years to all who helped him with his daily activities. He loved to entertain and always had a story or joke to share with those he knew.

Survivors include his sisters-in-law, Bonnie Hasler, Shirley (Harry) Hartwick, nieces & nephew, Debbie Keeran, Sandy Buettner, Barb Martin, Rhonda Hasler, Carla Erickson, Kathy LaVora, Cindy Fahney, Pat Haen, Mark Hasler and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Dorothy & two brothers, Marvin & Ernie.

Funeral services for Fritz will be held at 12:00 (noon) on Saturday October 12, 2013 at St. Paul's Christian Church, W7101 Sexton Rd. Elkhart Lake with Rev. Keith Hunholz officiating.

Burial will take place in the church cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service.

Full military rites will be conducted by the Glenbeulah American Legion Post #484.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name for St. Paul's Christian Church & the Elkhart Lake Lions Club.

Fritz's family would like to extend their thanks to all the neighbors and friends who have helped Fritz in so many different ways. They would also like to thank the staff & nurses at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the care and compassion he received.
