Bernico, George W. Sr.
George W. Bernico, Sr., age 84 of Sheboygan passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Sheboygan.
George was born on April 19, 1928 in Chicago, a son of the late Henry and Veronica (Tepper) Bernico. On January 21, 1948 he was united in marriage to Vera Lilyquist in Sheboygan. She preceded him in death on July 3, 2011. George served in the U.S. Navy.
George was a truck driver for over 40 years.
George is survived his six daughters and three sons, June Olsen of Sheboygan, William (Kathie) Bernico of Cleveland, George (Diane) Bernico II of Brandon, FL, Timothy (Danielle) Bernico of Tomah, Lynette (Glen) Myers of Green Lake, Annette (Rex) Hoffman of North Fond du Lac, Terryl (Darwin) Buslaff of Campbellsport, Caryn (Brian) Kreg of Spring Hill, FL and Colleen (Steve) Kreutz of Sheboygan; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth (Connie) Bernico of Chicago, Il and two sisters, Shirley Richiea and Georgiana (Richard) Smolik, both of Illinois. George was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Robert and William Bernico.
A funeral service for George will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19 at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St. with a gathering of family and friends prior to the service from 10a.m. until 11 a.m. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by VFW Post 9156.
George's family would like to extend their deep and sincere appreciation and thanks to the angels at the Golden Living Center. Their care and compassion will be remembered.
