Glen N. Laubenstein
Mr. Glen Laubenstein, of Random Lake, passed away early Monday morning, July 28, 2014 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. He was 78 years old.
Glen was born August 10, 1935 in Fredonia, the son of Walter and Viola Schultz Laubenstein. He graduated from Port Washington High School, and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He worked at Allis-Chalmers in Milwaukee as an inspector in the tractor division.
Glen was a longtime member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Random Lake, where he was a past officer and choir member. Glen was a very active member of the Random Lake community. He was a proud and dedicated member of the Random Lake Rod and Gun Club and the United Fund, the Random Lake Lions where he was a past officer and past President, the Friends of the Lakeview Library, and the Random Lake Area Historical Society where he was a lifetime member and served as the first President, retiring earlier this year.
Glen was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan, and enjoyed going to games. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors, painting and other forms of art, and gatherings with his family and friends. He will be remembered as "Santa Claus" to many in the Random Lake area.
Glen is survived by his sister-in-law Judy Laubenstein of Fredonia, cousin Pearl Schroeter of Random Lake and her children Lori (Jack) Ploof of Adell and Dale (Diane) Goschey of Silver Creek, special friend Margaret Schneider of Random Lake, other relatives and many dear friends.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Ira.
Funeral Services will be held at 6PM on Thursday, July 31 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 98 Random Lake Road in Random Lake. He will be laid to rest at St. Paul's Ev. Congregational Cemetery in Waubeka. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 4-6PM.
