Parnitzke, Gordon A.

Gordon A. Parnitzke 74, of Eagle River, WI, died suddenly in the caring arms of the love of his life, Lois, on the night of Monday, January 6th, 2014. He joined his father, mother, brother and sisters in Heaven.

Gordon was born on May 5th 1939, in Sheboygan, WI, to Rudolph and Martha Parnitzke. Gordon spent much of his life in Sheboygan, where he met his wife, Lois (Miller) Parnitzke. They met at Sheboygan County Teachers College and married on March 21, 1959.

Gordon received his teaching degree and started his first teaching job at Mapledale in 1962. He went on to receive his Bachelors degree from Oshkosh in 1966. Gordon then took a teaching position in Fredonia. His passion for teaching and caring for children, led him to receive his Masters in Guidance and Counseling in 1970. He continued his teaching career in Sheboygan, WI, until 1982. He and Lois then moved to Eagle River, WI and purchased Chain O' Lakes Campground which they owned and operated until 2002. Gordon and Lois became members of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Eagle River, WI and enjoyed being members of that church family.

Gordon prided himself on being a loving husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa. Gordon took each of these titles to heart along with the loving, generous and guiding actions that each entailed.

Gordon loved sharing with his family and friends the activities that he enjoyed most. Hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and enjoying God's creation were high on his list. Gordon's number one passion however, was spending time with his family.

Above all else, Gordon would wish to be remembered for his generosity, his loving, caring heart and his unwavering trust in The Lord.

Gordon will live on through the wisdom he shared and the many lives he has touched. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lois Parnitzke. Gordon was a loving father to Barbara Milz, Steve Parnitzke (Monnine) and Heidi Neis (Rick). Gordon was a grandfather to Brad, Nicole, Lindsey, Maura, Brian, Will, Meagan, Taylor and Andrew, Great Bapa to Maxwell, Izabella, Lily and Isla and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Pastor Bill Trosien and the Eagle River EMT's and first responders that were present Monday night.

Gordon will be greatly missed by many.

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 10, 2014.
