Harold Heiner Obituary
Heiner, Harold A.

Harold A. Heiner, age 91, of New Holstein, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at the Willowdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein.

He was born January 27, 1923, to the late Robert & Adele (Arps) Heiner.

Harold attended New Holstein Schools and after graduating in 1941, he enlisted in the Army serving in the Anti-Aircraft Division. He served his country from 1943 to 1945. His dedication for his country was apparent when he re-enlisted in the Army serving from 1945 to 1947.

Harold was united in marriage to Esther Propson on September 16, 1948. Esther preceded him in death on July 3, 1988. He later met Hazel (Schilling) Kelm. They were married in 1989. Hazel preceded him in death on November 12, 2013.

Harold was employed by the M-B Corporation for 38 years. He also managed the New Holstein Laundromat for 20 years. Harold's involvement with various New Holstein organizations included serving as an Alderman and presiding on the Public Works Committee for 12 years.

He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in New Holstein and the New Holstein American Legion Post 124.

Harold's love for New Holstein was evident by his nature of greeting people he knew wherever he went and leaving a hand full of Life Savers with them. He had an immense love for automobiles; after owning more than 25 cars in his lifetime (he had stated that he lost count of how many he actually owned). He always polished them with a careful eye to detail. He was defiantly a car enthusiast.

Survivors include his daughter, Diane (Tom) DeWane of Green Bay and their children, Corey, Sean (Carrie), Eric, Nicole, and Allison (Beau); great-grandchildren, Sean Jr., Christian, Cameron, Kinnley, Sydney, and Jordyn; his step-children, Patty (Mark) Minter and her son, Chris of Fond du Lac, Robin (Perry) Brandenburg and their children, Nathan and Lacey of Neenah, and Bonnie (Larry) Miller and their children, Carley and Marisa of Hilbert.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert & Adele Heiner; his first wife, Esther; his second wife, Hazel; his son, James Heiner; two brothers, Robert Jr. "Buddy" Heiner and his twin brother, Harvey (Romaine) Heiner; his sister, Grace (Elmer) Vogds; and a step-grandson, Paul Ingram.
