Ploetz, Jack W. "Jake"

Jack W. "Jake" Ploetz, 60, of 1309 N. 31st. St., died Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at St. Nicholas Hospital, following an apparent stroke.

Born January 20, 1952, in Sheboygan, Jack was a son of the late Rudolph and Devota Bartzen Ploetz. On November 23, 1991, he was united in marriage to Amy Jacobs.

Jake attended Holy Name School and graduated from Sheboygan South High. Jake went back to school and graduated from Lakeshore Technical College as an Electronics Technician.

Jake served his country in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. He was employed by the Vehicle Emissions Testing program and worked all over Southeastern Wisconsin.

Jake was a huge Packer fan, loved cars and going to car shows and enjoyed his collectibles.

He is survived by his wife Amy; his sister, Judene (Steve) Schulz, Valders, WI, his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Brenda Ploetz, Sheboygan, Laurel (Mark) Meseck, Sheboygan, Mary (Kyle) Schell, Victorville, CA, Jeanine (Ken) Housey, Sheboygan, Marti (Dean) Mertes, Elkhart Lake, WI, Christopher Jacobs, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph and Devota and his brother David Ploetz.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the Lippert-Olson Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Ave. Relatives and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Jake found comfort and peace in this prayer, "Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen to me today that You and I can not handle".

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Nicholas Hospital for the loving care they gave Jack.
