Kathleen Knepfel, age 62, of Sheboygan, went to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
Kathleen was born April 9, 1951 in Sheboygan to Matthew and Flora (Dekker) Gabrielse.
She attended Sheboygan Christian Grade School and graduated from North High School, Class of 1969. Kathy was a member of First Christian Reformed Church. She later moved to the south side and became a member of Bethany Reformed Church.
After high school, Kathy worked at H.C. Prange Co. in receiving, and then worked for Kohler Co. for 36 years, retiring in 2013.
She enjoyed being an aunt to seven nephews and nieces and especially cherished her travels with friends to beautiful and fun places.
Kathy is survived by her sister, Marlee Gamb; significant other and karaoke partner, Patrick Emerick; nephews, Charles, Jeffrey and Steven Gamb, Timothy and Ken Otte; nieces Denise Otte and Amy Dekker and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Nancy Otte; and two infant brothers.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Kathleen's name for Bethany Reformed Church.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11:30 am at Ballhorn Chapels and Crematory. Rev. Philip Rose, Lead Pastor at Bethany Reformed Church, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at Ballhorn Chapels from 10:00 am until the time of service.
